Why Staying at Home is The Right Thing to Do and How to Enjoy It

With the pandemic of coronavirus (COVID-19), we are required to do physical distancing by staying at home during these times. This means that we can not go outside and do our routine as before because we may risk spreading or being infected with the coronavirus. Staying at home right now is surely boring for most of us, but we must realize that it is actually the right thing to do. Here is why.

First of all, staying at home protects yourself and the others from the infection. Coronavirus spreads through the means of physical contact, not just through coughing or sneezing unlike the ordinary flu. The more physical contact happened, the greater the chance of the virus spreading. This is why the government has advised us to do physical distancing where we can not go outside and meeting the people unless absolutely necessary, because the virus will spread and we may get infected.

Second, we may also spread infection to the others. As stated before, coronavirus also spreads through physical contact. In addition, the virus evolves and infect people. The symptoms that the infected people suffer may vary thanks to the virus' evolution, but there are also some people that are infected by the virus but not showing any symptoms at all. This means that even if we are physically healthy, there is still a chance that we may spread the coronavirus to the others.

With all the reasons above, it is better for us to stay at home to keep ourselves safe from the virus, as the aim of physical distancing is to limit the spread of the virus, causing it to die down before it even has a chance to spread to the others.

While staying at home, most of us will find it boring after some time. However, there are some ways to enjoy it. First, work from home. For those whose jobs can be done from home, just keep doing your job and you will stay productive during these times. If you don't have anything to do, do something that you like and can bring you profit. For those who like working, this will keep you productive and away from the boredom.

Second, spend more time with your family. Your job and your parent's job keep both of you from ever having a good time together. With the pandemic of coronavirus, all of us are required to stay at home. This is the perfect moment for you to have a good time with your parents. Do household works or have fun with them and you will become closer to your parents. If you live far away from your parents, you can spend one or two hours to talk to them through video call.

Lastly, have some fun for yourself. Your job has been keeping you from doing what you want to do, so now it is the right time to do it. Even if your hobbies are outdoor activities, you surely have something else you can do at your home indoors. You can try playing video games, either you try to speedrun a single player game or play online games and have a chat with your friends. You can also do a movie marathon. If you have an unfinished movie or a drama series, now it's time to finish it.
Even better, some video game and movie streaming services have offered some of their stuff for free these days, so you can grab them and enjoy them without spending money. These are the most basic ways of having fun today, so these should kill your boredom easily.

All in all, that is all about why we should stay at home and how we can enjoy it. And we all hope that this pandemic will be over soon and we can live our life as it was again before the pandemic.
