Wattpad is the 'New Blog'

I've had a quick interview -not really an interview but more like a short discussion- with one of my friend. She writes a lot of fanfiction story in her Wattpad. I can't help but notice that Wattpad is becoming a thing in the past few months. So I asked her some more questions related to Wattpad.

"What is Wattpad?" 
Wattpad is some kind of blogging platform. There you can write whatever you want, just like a blog.

"Then, what makes it different than a blog?"
Blog is more...personal. I've written some story in blog, but then I keep it for myself. But Wattpad is more like a social media. There you could do so much more than in a blog. You can share your story or someone else story it, you can vote for the best story, you could see how many people that read your story, and you can give comments on the story. It's just that me ,as a reader,  personally feel that Wattpad gave me the platform to be more interactive with the readers.

I stopped for a moment and talked to myself.

But a blog is so much more customizable than Wattpad. We could technically add more features in our blog. With a little bit of web-coding of course.

Then I asked her the same question that I've had in my mind.

"But in a blog, you could do just the same? Even though you have to add those features by yourself."
That's what I like about Wattpad. It's simplicity. It's just type and tap. I don't have to understand the technicality of a blog. I could just type and tap on the post button, and it's done. It's just so much easier than a blog.

I couldn't agree more with what she said about Wattpad. I'm not familiar with that platform, but I'm sure that soon, Wattpad will be the Number #1 favorite writing platform.
